well, i went to aa cos i could splurge on anything CELINE no more. but for a crack whore like me, falling off the bandwagon seems to be my inevitable destiny. look at what i got y'all! ima make these limited edition plastic shades, which come with a black leather zip up pouch, into my special frigging prescription glasses
i got this HAVER SACK breton strip shirt on sale and then fell in love with this brand from japan, founded and designed by koji norihide. the new york times describes it as “a japanese line with a very english to the manor born sensibility," and it was a big hit at pitti uomo. all those tweed knickerbockers and wide leg high waisted linen trousers (very charlie siem when he was performing in cuba) just swept me away. the aesthetic is very 20’s-esque and totally de rigeur, but with an idiosyncratic twist. and i think while the hipster / heritage thing is more blue color and getting too expected, this is the future of choice menswear with a direction gravitating towards aristocracy, pretty much in like a sebastian flyte from brideshed revisited going to cuba kinda way.
well, the idea of rolling up your brief case into a murse ain't something new, i have a vintage one HERE but GUCCI did make a luscious one with a little monogram detailing
out of the blue, i wanted to blog about cinema, like films that have inspired me fashionably and ideologically. the first significant one that came to mind would be gus vant sant's my own private idaho first of all, its keanu reeves and river phoenix, a duo that would never ever happen again, it's just so golden skin tight white jeans are meant to be hemmed so high to show off your beat up boots accessorize your duffle coat over a ringer t shirt with a flower corduroy jacket with a shearing lining is a must for all road trips on the highways when i was growing up watching this, i thought being a hustler was so cool, lol tangerine and yellow and floral print made me fell with in love with vintage clothing for the very first time. hats off to costume designer beatrix aruna pasztor. and the story is just heartbreaking beauteous, it's simply like hoping we could grow up together but then we couldn't. so "whatever, whenever, have a nice day!"
oh, and when i was in high school in hong kong, my first published piece of writing was a film review on this one for an evening newspaper. no wonder why it has been so special
shooting with marcel nestler the other day. this kid is from germany and he's a lefty! he likes hong kong so cos he can go to the beach anytime he wants. it was a long ass day shoot and look at what was pulled! the stuff shown here was not even 1/3 of the whole load of fall winter goodies!
A BRAND APART's romeo and juliet printed scarf makes the ultimate love letter ever and an amazing scarf, LUISAVIAROMA has it so get it before love slips away
well, not only tadzio the boy played by björn andrésen is something so beautiful and inspirational, a photograph of andrésen when he was fifteen on the set of death in venice taken by david bailey is a major reason why i picked up a camera and started shooting. that fleeting moment of youth and beauty and everything that's worth living for in this lifetime, just fit into that perfect split second, cannot be rehearsed or choreographed ... and then poof! gone like a shooting star
the breton stripe shirt became an official part of the regulatory uniform for french sailors in 1958. the original iteration of this boatneck top featured 21 stripes, one for each of napoleon’s victories. the name "breton" came from the area of "brittany" in northern france. then seafarers, fishermen, mademoiselle chanel, pablo picasso, and andy warhol picked up the trend. and i finally realize where did my breton stripes obsession come from. it's tadzio from death in venice. tadzio played by björn andrésen in luchino visconti's 1971 film adaptation of thomas mann's heartbreaking novella death in venice and i got this blue and green one from MUJI
i ain't a fan of the tumblr, it's just a whole lotta laziness and recycling, but i came across this image from CHEBAB that moves me a buttload - five years ago, after visiting the er for being so sick and dizzy and then catching my flight to new york to go see madonna's concert and starting this blog with a PICTURE of me in a wheelchair, a magical journey named WE COULD GROW UP 2GETHER has begun. 5 years, 500 followers, 948 entries and many hair lost later, i can be damn sure that i have found my own ways to be happy, and this blog is surely one of them. thank you y'all for sharing all these with me. it's been a true blast of bliss and glees and growth and getting closer to becoming who i strive to be. and i cant wait for all the new adventures to come ... for you and me!
well i hate to be one of those bloggers who recycle a page or two from a magazine, call it a blog entry, and then get like 242 comments. but this one i just cant resist, its CELINE toting suvi koponen, photographed by raymond meier, for the august issue of vogue uk. the essence is the stickers. ima get some now
this is the stage of the musical WICKED . that means i finally got to see it and can check one off my bucket list. yes, "just you and i defying gravity, with you and i defying gravity. they'll never bring us down!"
the show is about two of the simplest concepts in this world - to be who u really are and fly with it. yet these are also two of the scariest things that scare the shit out of most people
daniel wanted to take me somewhere wcgut, so he showed me the way along the canal which leads to a little place called towpath. awww, there were swans along the way. and after the drizzle came the sun!
VERDE & CO. LTD. is like the british version of a corner deli in new york city, except it comes with a whole lotta charm and history. it used to be a fruit seller long long time ago, and now u can have a cup of tea, get their luxurious belgium pierre marcolini chocolates, order your lunch to go, or buy jam and olive oils and stuff
