sleepy hollow

we went to the legendary spooky small town sleepy hollow for a shoot with the real keeper of the unicorn forest ryan the taylor. as my beloved crew was busy pampering and dressing up little ryan back in the van, i ventured alone in the freezing cold to the very end of this closed park, and guess what was there waiting for me? a lighthouse! my first lighthouse ever! i was leaping and screaming and all happy. and the lighthouse was not even in the itinenary! sometimes things are all written in the stars and meant to be and i love doing my shoots very much cos they are all journeys and adventures that i would never forget. we wrapped things up right before sunset when the seagulls were heading home and what i saw then was just beautiful

it was a windy rainy cold day here but REQUEST's new face frederick sachs came in for a casting and brought rays of sunshine and stuff. he took a three hour train ride all the way from school in providence to the city. that english accent of his is just adorable. he said he's enjoying school so much that he doesn't want it to end, aww.

ninth street expressso

the good thing about life in the alphabet city is u can just get up in a butt freezing cold morning, put on your fancy overcoat over your pajamas, and head down to NINTH STREET ESPRESSO for a latte and a cranberry scone by the bakery from BALTHAZAR, even before u brush your teeth and wash your face, and start a day happy. oh, and that peacock plate i just got from ANTHROPOLOGIE. lovely

got this fits-me-like-a-glove aviator jacket from one of my fave shops in the east village, LOCAL CLOTHING. the lining and the aged black leather (so aged, it's almost brown) and the big pockets ... happiness

these DIPTYQUE shits are awesome and addictive. candels. perfume. shower stuff. and i got this philosyko eau de toilette that mutters breathes of wood and fig (which feels like i'm in some ancient chinesed erotic novel), like finally, even though i have a hard time deciding on which one to get. oh, and the folks over there was too kind to gimme a buttload of samples. j'adore

jane's carousel

the JANE'S CAROUSEL should be opened to the public for rides in brooklyn bridge park in december next year, housed in a glass structure designed by the starchitect jean nouvel. this vintage carousel from ohio that jane walentas restored by hand for about two decades is now just quietly sitting in a cramped storefront on water street, and locked up (that just ain't right)! can't wait till people, with the childlike sense of wonder, ride on it and then all the horses will be freed and magic will begin
